The theoretical and practical course on Climate and Forest Dynamics through Dendrochronology is designed to provide an enjoyable, intense and practical learning environment that motivates participants to explore new multidisciplinary research approaches. While its main focus is on tree research methods, we believe that elements from many different disciplines can be effectively combined in this course to design novel solutions to ecological and natural science hypotheses. Projects generated during the course week can be used as the basis for proposals to funding agencies, or form the core of future theses or dissertations.
At the end of this course it is expected that the attendee will be able to handle and apply the concepts and techniques of Dendrochronology to propose and develop related research and thus make a contribution to the development of research in Chile.
The course will be open to senior undergraduate students, professionals and graduate students in areas related to natural sciences, geography, environmental sciences, biology, climate science, earth sciences, ecology, natural resources, etc.
The applicant should send to the organizing committee
- Motivation letter (1 page).
- Curriculum vitae (2 pages).
